Inspirations

My intent with this part of our site is to provide people with the pictures, writing, and interests that often lead to the creations on this site. Being that I am a teacher, race fan, traveler, snowboarder, and just a strange person with eclectic ideas and interests you will probably see a lot of different things here.

I see many things through the lens of a camera. Unlike the drivers whose cars I often photograph the pictures I enjoy the most are usually NOT cars on the track. I actually enjoy photos of people interacting with a car, each other, etc. However, I do not limit my photographic interests to just cars. I love cemeteries, other places, and people just doing what they do best!

In recent years I’ve felt a desire to write about well, just about anything. I am slowly collecting history about my grandparents that I would like to publish. This year I started writing “Musings of a Racing Jedi” for Racersbored.com and have thought of other ways to expand on that idea.

My trip to Japan has also prompted me to write more as well. Although I’ve published two articles on Racersbored.com I would like to transcribe all of my daily journal entries from my trip for people to read as well. There is enough from my trip to Japan to keep me writing for a LONG time to come!

Finally, I would like a place for my students to go to find good resources of information for school. Even if they want to just look at pictures of the trip to Japan, anything to expand their knowledge and horizons is always going to be positive. I’ve even considered the idea of posting their work (With their permission of course). So many teens these days have no faith in themselves. They need to see that talent is appreciated.

Many on the Racersbored know me as Yoda. Of course to my students I am, Mrs. Chastenay. To everyone else I am Jill. I will admit often I do not like to sign my work. If I do sign anything I usually use the pseudonym, Yoda. I don’t write or take pictures so that everyone will know whom I am or tell me I did a great job. I simply do this as an outlet, a way to tell a story, and quite frankly sometimes just because I want to make people laugh. Hope you enjoy! If my sometimes-blunt ideas offend you, well just don’t look at my stuff. I’m not going to apologize to anyone for my warped thoughts.
